Demostramos el cultivo monocelular de bacterias dentro de vesículas gigantes (GV). Los GV que contenían células bacterianas fueron preparados por el método de transferencia de gotas y fueron inmovilizados sobre una membrana apoyada sobre un sustrato de vidrio para la observación directa del crecimiento bacteriano. Este enfoque también puede ser adaptable a otras células.
