Dit protocol maakt een directe vergelijking mogelijk tussen planktonische en biofilmresistentie voor een bacteriestam die een biofilm in vitro kan vormen met behulp van een 96-put microtiterplaat. Planktonische of biofilmbacteriën worden blootgesteld aan seriële verdunningen van het antimicrobiële middel naar keuze. De levensvatbaarheid wordt beoordeeld door de groei op agarplaten.
