La stimulation magnétique transcrânienne (TMS) est un outil non-invasif d'avoir un aperçu sur la physiologie et le fonctionnement du système nerveux humain. Ici, nous présentons nos techniques TMS pour étudier l'excitabilité corticale du membre supérieur et de la musculature lombaire.
La stimulation magnétique transcrânienne (TMS) a été utilisé pendant plus de 20 ans 1, et a connu une croissance exponentielle en popularité au cours de la dernière décennie. Bien que l'utilisation de TMS a été élargi pour l'étude de nombreux systèmes et les processus pendant ce temps, la demande initiale et peut-être l'une des utilisations les plus courantes de TMS consiste à étudier la physiologie, de la plasticité et la fonction du système humain neuromusculaire. TMS seule impulsion appliquée sur le cortex moteur excite les neurones pyramidaux transsynaptically 2 (figure 1) et aboutit à une réponse mesurable électromyographiques qui peut être utilisé pour étudier et évaluer l'intégrité et l'excitabilité des voies cortico-3 chez les humains. En outre, les avancées récentes dans la stimulation magnétique permet désormais de partitionnement de l'excitabilité corticale par rapport épinière 4,5. Par exemple, double choc TMS peuvent être utilisés pour évaluer les propriétés intracorticale facilitation et d'inhibition, en combinant une conditionING relance et un stimulus de test à intervalles différents interstimulus 3,4,6-8. Dans cet article, vidéo, nous allons démontrer les aspects méthodologiques et techniques de ces techniques. Plus précisément, nous allons montrer un seul pouls et double choc techniques TMS appliquées au fléchisseur radial du carpe (FCR) du muscle ainsi que le monteur spinae (ES) musculature. Notre laboratoire étudie le muscle RCF comme il est d'intérêt pour nos recherches sur les effets de l'immobilisation plâtrée du poignet-main sur la performance musculaire réduite 6,9, et nous étudions les muscles ES à cause de ces muscles la pertinence clinique de ce qui a trait à la lombalgie 8. Avec ce dit, il faut noter que la SMT a été utilisée pour étudier de nombreux muscles de la main, bras et jambes, et devrait réitérer que nos démonstrations dans le FCR et les groupes musculaires ES ne sont que des exemples choisis de TMS sont utilisées pour étudier l'neuromusculaire humaine système.
L'objectif global de cet article est de fournir aux scientifiques et aux cliniciens un compte visuelle de nos laboratoires de l'utilisation de la stimulation magnétique transcrânienne.
