Xenogene (chemische of dierlijke afgeleide) producten die worden geïntroduceerd in de voorbereidings-/manipulatiestappen voor celtherapie zijn geassocieerd met een verhoogd risico op immuunreactiviteit en pathogene overdracht bij gastheerpatiënten. Hier wordt een volledig xenogeneïsche vrije methode beschreven voor de isolatie en in vitro expansie van menselijke vet-afgeleide stamcellen.
