פרוטוקול זה מספק שיטה ללמוד זיהום שחפת Mycobacterium במאקרופאגים אנושיים M1- או M2 מקוטבים המבוססים על בידול של מונוציטים היקפיים-דם לתאים דמויי מקרופאג' הנגועים בזן הארסי H37Rv המסומן על ידי GFP, ומנותחים עם ציטומטריית זרימה באמצעות פאנל של 10 צבעים כולל ביטוי של סמני M1/M2 נבחרים.
