Deze studie beschrijft de microscopische monitoring van pneumococcus hechting aan Von Willebrand factor snaren geproduceerd op het oppervlak van gedifferentieerde menselijke primaire endotheliale cellen onder shear stress in gedefinieerde stromingsomstandigheden. Dit protocol kan worden uitgebreid naar gedetailleerde visualisatie van specifieke celstructuren en kwantificering van bacteriën door differentiële immunokleurings procedures toe te passen.
