Dissoziierte Atrophie der intrinsischen Handmuskeln, der sogenannten Split-Hand, scheint eine Besonderheit der amyotrophen Lateralsklerose (ALS) sein. Folglich wurde eine neue neurodiagnostische Test, der sogenannten Split-Hand-Index wurde entwickelt, um die klinische Phänomen der geteilten Hand, die Mimik von ALS-Erkrankungen differenziert zu quantifizieren.
