Hier presenteren we een gedetailleerd protocol voor de isolatie en identificatie van antibioticaresistente bacteriën uit water en de moleculaire karakterisering van hun antibioticaresistentiegenen (ARGs). Het gebruik van op cultuur gebaseerde en niet-cultuurgebaseerde (metagenomische analyse) technieken biedt volledige informatie over de totale bacteriële diversiteit en de totale pool van verschillende ARGs aanwezig in zoet water uit Mumbai, India.
