Es wird ein Protokoll vorgestellt, um den Gesamtlipidgehalt der Zellwand einer Vielzahl von Mykobakterien zu extrahieren. Darüber hinaus werden Extraktions- und Analyseprotokolle der verschiedenen Arten von Mykolsäuren gezeigt. Ein dünnschichtchromatographisches Protokoll zur Überwachung dieser mykobakteriellen Verbindungen wird ebenfalls bereitgestellt.
