Gecombineerde ozon- en bacteriële endotoxine blootgestelde muizen vertonen wijdverspreide celdood, waaronder die van neutrofielen. We zagen cellulaire aanpassingen zoals verstoring van cytoskelet lamellipodie, verhoogde cellulaire expressie van complexe V ATP synthase subeenheid β en angiostatine in broncho-alveolaire lavage, onderdrukking van de immuunrespons van de longen en vertraagde neutrofiele rekrutering.
