Dit protocol beschrijft de stappen die zijn genomen om KRAS longtumoren bij muizen te induceren, evenals de kwantificering van gevormde tumoren door echografie. Kleine tumoren worden gevisualiseerd in vroege tijdpunten als B-lijnen. Op latere tijdpunten worden relatieve tumorvolumemetingen bereikt door het meetinstrument in de echografiesoftware.
