Dit artikel beschrijft technieken om een hoge resolutie van functionele magnetische resonantie beeldvorming uit te voeren met 1,2 mm bemonstering in de menselijke middenhersenen en subcorticale structuren met behulp van een 3T scanner. Het gebruik van deze technieken om topografische kaarten van visuele stimulatie in de menselijke superior colliculus (SC) op te lossen wordt als voorbeeld gegeven.
